Magic: The Gathering

logo-magic Extra Life @ Macon is excited to hold it's latest Magic: The Gathering Draft style tournament at the main event. We held one at our Unplugged event and it was a great success so we are very excited to see it our main event. We're also proud to announce that this tournament will be sponsored and conduced by UnderDark Comics in Quincy, Illinois. What is a draft style tournament? Essentially, every participant gets 3 booster packs of cards and you join a table of other players. Everyone at the table opens up the first pack of cards, goes through their pack, and selects one card before handing the opened pack to the next player while you go through the pack of someone seated next to you. This continues for all 3 booster packs until all 3 have been gone through. You then construct your deck using the cards you have chosen and mana that is provided and the tournament begins. For this tournament, we will be using the expansion Kaladesh, which will be debuting September 30. Prizes will include booster packs. There is an additional cost of $15 for this tournament, in addition to your $5 entry fee. Meaning if you are coming to the event just to play in the tournament, you will be charged $20. If you purchasing the all-inclusive bracelet, you will be charged an additional $10 to participate. And by no means does this mean that this allotted time is the only time you can play M:tG. Feel free to show up early or stay late to continue playing Magic throughout the day as we'll have open time going on simultaneously for all those who want to play. Remember, 100% of all funds raised at this event will go directly to the University of Missouri's Women and Children's Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. Spots will be filling up quickly as this event is one of most popular events of the day, so sign up early to guarantee you a spot in the tournament. Sign up today!
